TV-Desi is a new broadband IPTV service aimed at the growing South Asian diaspora.
We use proprietary compression technology and a set top box to deliver encrypted content via the public internet, to bring broadcast quality video directly to a television in the consumer’s home.
The technology is easy to use and requires minimal set up. The technology also enables us to deliver video-on-demand and pay per view events as well as targeted advertising. The business model is subscription based. The technology is owned by a sister company NeuLion Inc.. Both the technology and the business model has been proven in another sister company, KyLinTV aimed at the Chinese diaspora.
Our unique strength lies in the fact that we are using proven technology, a proven business model and delivery to the consumer’s usual mode of viewing on a television rather than on a small PC screen.
Since we are using proprietary encryption technology and use streaming rather than downloading, there is no danger of piracy of intellectual property.
Our initial launch is in the United States and Canada.
